Barcelona School of Economics organizes 2023 Summer Forum
Over 880 participants from universities, central banks, and international organizations met in Barcelona this June to share and debate frontier research
From June 6-20, the Barcelona School of Economics organized the 2023 edition of the BSE Summer Forum.
The Summer Forum is a series of independent workshops that cover the main fields of Economics. This year's edition included 34 workshops, with 881 participants from 238 universities, central banks, and international organizations around the world.
Each Summer Forum workshop is organized by BSE Affiliated Professors together with colleagues from dozens of institutions worldwide. The workshop topics are a reflection of the current debate across fields of Economics research, with some topics building on previous editions and others joining the Summer Forum for the first time this year.
The workshop programs include invited speakers and researchers who submit papers to an open call, which received 2,141 papers this year. A total of 474 papers were presented during this year's Summer Forum by junior, mid-career, and senior researchers.
In addition to the workshops, the 2023 edition of the Summer Forum featured a roundtable on "The Future of Cities: Challenges and Opportunities" with some of the world's leading urban economists. The roundtable was sponsored by AENA and was open to all Summer Forum participants, the entire BSE community of professors, researchers, students, and alumni, and also to the general public.
