Juan José Ganuza is a Professor of Economics and Business at Universitat Pompeu Fabra and an Affiliated Professor of the Barcelona School of Economics (BSE), where he has been a director and instructor of BSE’s Master’s Program in Competition, Regulation, and Markets and director of BSE’s Digital Economy Summer School.
He is the current President of the Spanish National Markets and Competition Commission (CNMC). He is also heads the Competition and Regulation Division at Funcas, an economics think tank, and the Economics Area of the Spanish State Research Agency (AEI).
Professor Ganuza is an applied economist whose research interests include Game Theory, Auctions, Regulation, and Industrial Organization.
He has published in the main international Economics journals in his research field (RAND Journal of Economics, International Journal of Industrial Organization, Journal of Industrial Economics, Journal of Economics Management and Strategy, etc) as well as in general interest economics journals (such as Econometrica), law journals (such as the Journal of Legal Studies), and business publications (such as Management Science).
He has been a consultant on procurement issues for the Spanish government. He has collaborated on several books related with procurement and regulatory issues, among them, The Handbook of Procurement (Cambridge University Press, 2006).
Professor Ganuza holds a PhD in Economics from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid.
