Antonio Penta is ICREA Research Professor at Universitat Pompeu Fabra and Affiliated Professor at the Barcelona School of Economics. Prior to joining UPF and BSE, he was Assistant Professor (2010-2016) and then tenured Associate Professor (2016-2018) at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He graduated in economics from Bocconi University in 2004, and then obtained a M.A. in 2008 and a Ph.D. in 2010 from the University of Pennsylvania. He is currently a member of the Editorial Board of the American Economic Review and the Review of Economic Studies, an Associate Editor of the Journal of Economic Theory and of Theoretical Economics, Associate Faculty at Toulouse School of Economics and a member of the TSE Digital Center.
His research – which has been published in journals such as the American Economic Review, Econometrica, Review of Economic Studies, Journal of Economic Theory, Theoretical Economics, Management Science, and others – focuses on game theory, auctions, mechanism design and bounded rationality, and it involves both theoretical and experimental work.
