Ada Ferrer-i-Carbonell is Tenured Scientist at IAE-CSIC and director of the BSE Master's Program in Economics of Public Policy. She is also BSE's Deputy Director for Academic Programs.
Professor Ferrer is Research Fellow of IZA (Institute for the Study of Labor), and member of MOVE (Markets, Organizations and Votes in Economics) and INSIDE (Insights on Immigration and Development). She is associate editor of the Journal of Economic Behavior & Organization.
She is a member of the GINI project and was a member of the EU projects EPICURUS and Health@Work. In 2011 she received a RecerCaixa grant for her project, "Immigrant location and native residential preferences in Spain: new ghettoes?"
Prof. Ferrer has PhDs in Economics from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (US) and the Tinbergen Institute (University of Amsterdam).
Her main research area is the econometric analysis of subjective measures used as a proxy for welfare and well-being so as to address a range of scientifically and politically relevant questions. In addition, she has worked on individual behavior and sustainable consumption.
