Stefano Falcone is an applied microeconomist working as a Post-Doctoral Researcher at IAE-CSIC and Affiliated Professor at the Barcelona School of Economics.
His main research interest is Political Economy and, in particular, social conflict. His most advanced research work explores how agricultural modernization may lead to land conflict: the main finding is that the expansion of commercial farming reduces access to the land for the rural poor who then may decide to engage in land disputes. His interest on the poor is also reflected in another recent work where the researcher investigates whether evictions, by increasing homelessness, lead to crime over inhabitable assets (homes and vehicles).
