Doctoral students organize second BSE PhD Jamboree

jamboree

The second BSE PhD Jamboree took place from April 16-17, 2015. The Jamboree is a two-day academic conference created, organized, and led by doctoral students from both PhD programs in the BSE community: the International Doctoral in Economic Analysis (IDEA) at UAB and the Graduate Program in Economics, Finance and Management (GPEFM) at UPF.

The Jamboree is an opportunity for students in both PhD programs in the BSE community to workshop their research and exchange ideas with colleagues at UPF and UAB. The PhD Jamboree is supported by the Severo Ochoa Excellence Program.

Students began the Jamboree initiative last year in order to foster debate and interaction with their colleagues. The event is an opportunity to exchange ideas and receive feedback on work in progress. This year's program included 24 papers by current students in the two PhD programs as well as two invited alumni: Tuğçe Çuhadaroğlu (IDEA '13), now Lecturer at the University of St. Andrews, and Robert Zymek (Economics '06 and GPEFM '11), who is Lecturer in Economics at the University of Edinburgh.
