Cristina Bellés Obrero

Cristina Bellés-Obrero is a Postdoctoral Researcher (Beatriu de Pinós Fellow) in the Department of Economics at the University of Barcelona and research affiliate at the Institut d’Economia de Barcelona and IZA. She obtained her PhD in Economics from Universitat Pompeu Fabra in 2017 and was a Postdoctoral Researcher before at the University of Mannheim.

Her main research interests are in the areas of Health Economics, Family Economics, Labor Economics, and Economics of Education. Her current research involves the study of policies that aim to reduce the incidence/reporting of gender violence, as well as the effects of other labor market and pension policies on health. She is also interested in studying which policies are most effective in reducing child marriages and adolescent pregnancies in developing countries.
