Fabian Gaessler

Fabian Gaessler is an Associate Professor in the Department of Economics and Business at Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF) and an Affiliated Professor at the Barcelona School of Economics (BSE).

Professor Gaessler conducts empirical research on innovation, intellectual property, science, and technological change. His work has appeared in Management Science, the American Economic Journal: Applied Economics, the Review of Economics and Statistics, Research Policy, the Strategic Management Journal, and Science Advances.

He has worked on projects with the European Patent Office and the European Commission, and he is a board member of the European Policy for Intellectual Property (EPIP) Association. He also serves on the Advisory Board of the T!Raum funding initiative of the German Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space.

Fabian Gaessler holds a PhD in Management from the University of Munich and an MSc from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
