Frontiers in Applied Economics

Many of today’s most pressing economic and societal challenges—including climate change, migration, gender inequality, demographic change, and political polarization—require a rigorous understanding of economic behavior and the effects of public policies. At the same time, advances in empirical methods and the growing availability of detailed data are transforming how economists study these questions. Frontiers in Applied Economics brings together recent developments in applied economic research to provide participants with the tools and insights needed to understand and address these challenges.

The program is particularly relevant for graduate students and researchers seeking to deepen their knowledge of current research, as well as professionals working in government, international organizations, research institutions, and the private sector who want to apply economic evidence to real-world problems.

Participants of the Frontiers in Applied Economics Summer School can also submit research papers for review and feedback during lunchtime sessions.
