Macroeconomic theories have traditionally been tested using non‐experimental data from the field. However, modern, micro‐based macroeconomic models can also be tested in the laboratory, which affords better causal inference, and researchers have begun to pursue such experimental tests.
The purpose of the BSE Summer Forum Workshop on Theoretical and Experimental Macroeconomics is to provide a platform for exchange of ideas and promote greater interaction between macroeconomic researchers, behavioral/experimental economists and policy makers, with the aim of advancing macroeconomics in a direction that allows it to account for more of the real behavior of economic agents and economies with the help of relevant experimental evidence.
We invite researchers using behavioral, experimental and theoretical approaches addressing macroeconomic questions to submit a paper.
