Computational and Experimental Economics

The BSE Summer Forum Workshop on Computational and Experimental Economics brings together researchers working in two fields: Computational Economics and Experimental Economics. While traditionally distinct, these areas have recently witnessed a surge in cross-collaborations, driven by advances in machine learning and large- language models.

Developments in agent-based models and AI tools are providing new ways to model bounded rationality, belief formation, and strategic behavior. These approaches are now used to simulate sophisticated artificial agents and to analyze experimental data, opening new opportunities for collaboration between computational and experimental economics.
