A Dynamic Economic and Monetary Union

Being the 10^th anniversary, the BSE Summer Forum Workshop on A Dynamic Economic and Monetary Union (ADEMU) will combine invited and contributed presentations to take stock of what we have learned and look ahead with novel research, covering theoretical and applied research on financial, fiscal and monetary policies (and institutions) that can strengthen the euro area, as well as other economies, as to make them more resilient to financial, economic, social and geopolitical crises.

Specific objectives include, but are not restricted to:

• Credible fiscal and monetary policies facing new shocks & uncertainties (war in Ukraine, energy, trade, populism, etc.)
• The value of the legacy sovereign debt and its sustainability
• Credible rules and institutional mechanisms for economic stability with challenges ahead (ageing, climate shocks, etc.)
• Inequality legacy and fiscal and monetary policies in heterogeneous societies and unions
• Current fiscal & monetary mix policies and structural (growth-enhancing) reforms
• The international monetary system and financial stability in a uncertain interest rate environment
