First Barcelona Data Science Meeting organized by Ramon Areces Foundation and BSE
More than 150 academics and professionals participated in the inaugural edition of this event.
On March 21-22, the Barcelona School of Economics and the Ramon Areces Foundation organized the first edition of the Barcelona Data Science Meeting. The scientific organizers were Professors José García-Montalvo (UPF and BSE) and Omiros Papaspiliopoulos (ICREA-UPF and BSE). The event was hosted by Universitat Pompeu Fabra at Ciutadella Campus.
The Barcelona Data Science Meeting is a two-day conference exploring Data Science research and applications for business and institutions. The program included research presentations by top academics and expert panels with practitioners from Europe and the United States:

The first day of the Meeting was dedicated to Research in Data Science. The speakers were:

About Data Science at the BSE
The Barcelona School of Economics is an internationally leading institution for scientific cooperation for research and graduate education in Economics and the Social Sciences. The School offers a wide range of professionally- and academically-orientated graduate degrees in Economics and Data Science; the third edition of the BSE Master’s in Data Science will begin in September 2016. The first Data Science Summer School will take place from July 4-8, 2016.
