New BSE Research Professor and Associate RPs: Jan Eeckhout, Joan Llull and Edouard Schaal
Research Professorships are funded by the BSE research endowment to increase the critical mass of top scientists in its academic community.
The Barcelona School of Economics has appointed one new BSE Research Professor, Jan Eeckhout (ICREA-UPF and BSE), and two new BSE Associate Research Professors, Joan Llull (MOVE, UAB and BSE) and Edouard Schaal (CREI, UPF and BSE).
Research Professor appointments began in 2009 to increase the critical mass of top scientists at the BSE. They are joint appointments between the BSE and one of its academic units: the Center for Research on International Economics (CREI); the Department of Economics and Business at Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF); the Institute for Economic Analysis (IAE-CSIC); and the Unit of Economic Analysis at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB).
All Research Professor and Associate Research Professor appointments are funded by the BSE research endowment, which is dedicated exclusively to this purpose. With the new additions, there are currently 22 BSE Research Professors, seven Associate Research Professors, and five Emeritus Research Professors.
