A research team led by José García-Montalvo (UPF and BSE) that also includes Ruben Durante (UPF and BSE) and Marta Reynal-Querol (ICREA-UPF and BSE) has been awarded the 2022 National Public-Private R&D Partnership Prize of Catalonia together with CaixaBank for the project Real-Time Economics.

Real-Time Economics is a web portal that monitors the evolution of the Spanish economy through indicators on consumption, housing, tourism, wages, and inequality. The indictors have been built by a multidisciplinary team of economists and data scientists using anonymized internal data from CaixaBank and big data techniques.
