Entry Requirements

Previous knowledge

The BSE Executive Education Courses are taught at a high academic standard. The level of the material is equivalent to what is presented in our Master’s programs. Successful candidates will usually demonstrate one or more of the following in an application to our courses:

  • A strong background in Economics or a field closely related to the course topic (Statistics, Law, etc.)
  • Postgraduate degree or current Master’s/PhD studies related to the course topic
  • Relevant professional experience

English language proficiency

All courses are taught in English.

Participants are expected to have enough command of the language to follow and benefit from the course without causing disruption to the development of the class.

Suitability of the course

Before confirming their attendance to an Executive Education course, applicants are responsible for establishing the relevance and suitability of it for their individual requirements.

How to apply

Admissions process for individuals

1. Access the application system and create a new application for the Executive Course you wish to apply to.
2. Complete the information in all of the sections of the application form and submit your application on the last screen.

a. You will be required to upload an up-to-date CV (or your personal webpage or LinkedIn profile if you consider it contains enough information to show your eligibility) and proof or reference if you apply for reduced fees.

3. If your application is accepted, you will receive an email including your letter of acceptance/invitation and the total course fees to be paid.

A place in the course will only be guaranteed once we have received the full payment of the fees. Please be aware that course places are limited and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

Registration process for companies and institutions

  1. The company representative should contact the Institutional Relations team who will guide them through the Corporate Registration process.
  2. BSE will apply the discounts agreed and the company representative will receive an email with a summary of the final fee quotation.
  3. After approval of the registration and quotation, BSE will proceed to issue an invoice for the confirmed payment.

A place in the course will only be guaranteed once we have received the full payment of the fees. Please be aware that course places are limited and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

Fees, Discounts and Payments

Fees vary by program. Please refer to the Executive Education programs for specific course fees.

Reduced rates are available for PhD or Master’s students, BSE Alumni, and those who are unemployed.

We also offer discounts for individuals (Early Bird, Current Students, Recommenders, Multiple Course Selection) and for companies and institutions (Early Bird, Partners, Personalized Discounts).

BSE Executive Education Policies

Cancelation by the Participants or the Institution

Cancellations will result in a full or partial refund of tuition fees according to the following terms:

  • Cancelation before admission closing date: Full refund
  • Cancelation on or after the course closing date: No refund.

If desired, the fee can be used as a credit to defer participation to the next edition of the course.

Deferral Policy

Students enrolled in the Executive Education courses are eligible to defer their seats to the next academic year only.

Deferring is possible until one week before the course starts; deferral applications will not be accepted after this date.

Cancelation by the School

In the unlikely event that BSE needs to change the modality of a course from face-to-face to online, or must cancel the course entirely, confirmed participants can choose one of the following options:

1. Request a full refund of course fees.

2. Defer admission to the next edition of the course and use the amount paid as a credit towards that edition’s fees.

Please note, BSE is not responsible for any travel expenses incurred. We strongly recommend that every on-campus course participant acquire travel insurance that conveniently covers them in case of cancellation.

Certificate of Attendance

Each participant will receive a certificate of attendance detailing the course taken and number of hours completed. The certificate of attendance is free of charge.

Venue

All of BSE Executive Education’s in-person courses take place in the center of Barcelona at UPF Ciutadella campus and is easily accessible via public transport.

Course delivery and modalities

Many courses are held face-to-face at our Ciutadella Campus location in the center of Barcelona.

Some courses are conducted online. Others are available in a hybrid format, either online or face-to-face.

Can I take more than one course?

Yes, all participants can take more than one course, schedule permitting. See the full calendar here.

Accommodation

Participants of face-to-face courses are responsible for arranging their own accommodation.
