After graduating from the Competition and Market Regulation master's program in 2013, Thembalethu returned to South Africa and continued to work as a competition economist for Genesis Analytics, a leading competition consulting firm. One year later, she moved to the Competition Commission of South Africa, where she is currently Senior Economist.
