Carles Murillo Mir

Carles Murillo Mir is an independent expert on AI Ethics and Philosophy and a guest professor at the Barcelona School of Economics (BSE).

He earned his PhD and began his teaching career at the University of Edinburgh, later moving to Ca’ Foscari (Venice) before settling in Barcelona.

Professor Murillo Mir’s latest area of expertise is AI Ethics, with a focus on the philosophical questions that arise at the intersection of AI, human behavior, politics, and the impact of the digital business model on the well-being of democracies and the individual. He approaches AI Ethics with a techno-humanist mindset. Believing in the power of cinema and art to convey complex ideas, Carles uses them to help students challenge assumptions, develop ethical decision-making skills, and, above all, expand their philosophical perspective.
