Anna Merino Castelló holds a degree and a PhD in Economics from Universitat Pompeu Fabra. Her professional experience started at NERA, a consulting firm specialized in competition policy and market regulation, where she participated in important cases and projects both at a national and at an European level. Since 2003, she has been responsible for the Department of Market Analysis and Studies at the Catalan Competition Authority, part of the Government of Catalonia. The focus is the analysis of markets and its functioning, with the objective of identifying anticompetitive issues. During these years, she has always participated in graduate and postgraduate teaching, especially with lectures in microeconomics, industrial organization, regulation and competition. Nowadays, she is the responsible for better regulation and state aids at the Economics Department of the Catalan Government.
