Alfredo Martín-Oliver is a Full Professor of Finance at the University of the Balearic Islands and Director of the Banca March Family Business Chair. He currently serves as President of the Spanish Finance Association (AEFIN).

Before his academic career, he was a Staff Economist in the Financial Stability Department at the Bank of Spain. Professor Martín-Oliver holds a PhD in Economics and Business from the University of Zaragoza and an MSc from CEMFI.

His research focuses on banking competition, credit risk, bank capital and regulation, and financial stability, and he has twice received the “Antonio Dionis Soler” Research Award (FEF). He has published in the Review of Corporate Finance Studies, the Journal of Financial Intermediation and the Journal of Money, Credit and Banking, among others.
