Elena Manresa is a Professor of Economics at Princeton University. She worked as an Associate Professor of Economics at NYU’s Department of Economics and serves as a Visiting Professor at IAE-CSIC in Barcelona from September 2025 to June 2026. Her research focuses on Microeconometrics, Machine Learning/AI, Financial Econometrics, and Health.

Dr. Manresa was elected Fellow of the Econometric Society (2024) and received the 21st Banco Sabadell Foundation Award for Economic Research (2022) and a Sloan Research Fellowship (2021-2023). Her work on dimension reduction methods and heterogeneity in panel data has been published in journals including Econometrica and the Journal of Financial Economics.

Holding a Ph.D. in Economics from CEMFI, she has previously held faculty positions at the MIT Sloan School of Management. She contributes to the field as an Associate Editor for Econometrica and the Journal of Business & Economic Statistics.
