David Kovo is a Member of the Chief Economist team of DG Competition at the European Commission since 2014. He is also a Visiting Professor of competition economics at the College of Europe since 2019. He has previously held economist positions in the Economic Consulting team of Deloitte in London and in the UK Office of Fair Trading (currently Competition and Markets Authority). His experience spans all aspects of competition economics (mergers, antitrust and state aid), as well as regulatory and public policy matters. He has led the economic analysis of several high profile mergers (Hutchison/O2 UK, Siemens/Alstom and Bayer/Monsanto) as well as abuse of dominance cases in sectors such as telecoms, media, digital, retail and pharma.
