Severo Ochoa research accreditation results in more financial support for BSE doctoral programs

Thanks to the BSE's Severo Ochoa Excellence Accreditation, doctoral students in the School community can now benefit from additional funding opportunities.

La Caixa-Severo Ochoa International Doctoral Fellowships

For the second year in a row, doctoral students have been awarded La Caixa-Severo Ochoa International Doctoral Fellowships to support their PhD studies in one of the two doctoral programs organized jointly with the Barcelona School of Economics: the Graduate Program in Economics, Finance and Management (GPEFM) at Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF) and the International Doctorate in Economic Analysis (IDEA) at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB).

The fellowships are financed by "La Caixa" Foundation and will provide the for students with funding over a four-year period.

The "La Caixa" Foundation supports doctoral fellowships at those institutions which have received theSevero Ochoa Excellence Accreditation. The Severo Ochoa Program was launched in 2011 by the Spanish Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness to promote frontier research and distinguish those institutions that are defining the global scientific debate. The BSE is the only center in the social sciences that has received the Severo Ochoa accreditation.
