BSE Associate Research Professor Joan Llull (MOVE, UAB and BSE) has won the 2020 SERIEs Award for the best paper published in SERIEs – Journal of the Spanish Economic Association during the last four years.

He received the award for his paper, "Understanding international migration: evidence from a new dataset of bilateral stocks (1960–2000)," SERIEs 7, pp 221-255, August 2016. According to the award jury, Professor Llull's paper is a novel and careful study with profound implications for the design of immigration policies.

This is the fourth edition of the SERIEs Award. Previously, a research team that included BSE Affiliated Professors won the second edition of the Award (covering the period 2012-2015):

Ozlem Akin, José G. Montalvo, Jaume García-Villar, José-Luis Peydró y Josep M. Raya. “The real estate and credit bubble: evidence from Spain”, SERIEs 5, No. 2-3, pp 223-243, August 2014.
