How to apply to Summer School

The information below refers to all Barcelona School of Economics Summer School programs.

Please refer to the individual Summer School pages for requirements, fees, and deadlines specific to that program. Our staff will be glad to assist you with any questions you may have.

Entry Requirements

Previous knowledge

The BSE Summer Schools are taught at a high academic standard. The level of the material is equivalent to what is presented in our Master’s programs. Successful candidates will usually demonstrate one or more of the following in an application to our Summer School programs:

  • A strong background in Economics or a field closely related to the course topic (Statistics, Law, etc.)
  • Postgraduate degree or current Master’s/PhD studies related to the course topic
  • Relevant professional experience

Particular courses may require specific background knowledge or experience and applicants are responsible for establishing the relevance and suitability of the courses for their individual requirements, asking questions to the Admissions Counselors to verify their eligibility, if necessary.

English language proficiency

All courses are taught entirely in English. While no language certificate is required at the moment of application, participants are expected to have enough command of the language to follow and benefit from the course without causing disruption to the development of the class.

Application Process

Admissions process for individuals

  1. Access the application system and create a new Summer School application
  2. Complete the information in all of the sections of the application form and submit your application on the last screen.
    1. You will be required to upload an up-to-date CV (or your personal webpage or LinkedIn profile if you consider it contains enough information to show your eligibility) and proof or reference if you apply for reduced fees.
  3. If your application is accepted, you will receive an email including your letter of acceptance/invitation and the total course fees to be paid.

You can contact the Summer School Admissions team for assistance at any time throughout the application process.

Registration process for companies and institutions

  1. The company representative should contact the Institutional Relations team who will guide them through the Corporate Registration process.
  2. BSE will apply the discounts agreed and the company representative will receive an email with a summary of the final fee quotation.
  3. After approval of the registration and quotation, BSE will proceed to issue an invoice for the confirmed payment.

A place in the course will only be guaranteed once we have received the full payment of the fees. Please be aware that course places are limited and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis until the maximum class capacity is reached. Both face-to-face and online courses have limited seats to guarantee the quality of interactions with instructors and classmates.

Please download our BSE course policies for more detailed information.
