  • Group study rooms
  • Dedicated study space for BSE students
In addition to the spaces available at UPF and UAB libraries, BSE students have exclusive access to study rooms in the same building where the majority of classes are held. This building is open Monday-Friday from 8:30am-9:00pm.
Information Technology Resources

The BSE, UAB, and UPF provide students with state-of-the-art IT resources to support teaching, learning, and research.

Internet Access

An extensive wifi network is present at all facilities to allow access to email and the Internet on campus.

Off campus, students have access to the BSE email system and the BSE Virtual Campus.

Printers

The library is equipped with high-quality printers, which can also be used directly from laptops via the wifi network.

Programming Resources

At the beginning of the Fall term, students at the UPF Ciutadella campus will be able to take a computational tools brush-up course, which provides an introduction to two important mathematic applications: Matlab and Stata. These applications will be useful for many of the master's courses as well as independent research.

Virtual Campus

The BSE's Virtual Campus allows students to access to a secure on-line space for:

  • Viewing course and exam schedules
  • Downloading course materials
  • Checking grades
  • Contacting fellow students or instructors via an internal message service
  • Receiving reminders about administrative matters such as room changes
Language Learning

While all the BSE classes are taught entirely in English, one of the best ways to enhance the cultural experience of living abroad is by studying the local languages and customs. BSE students will enjoy the chance to regularly immerse themselves in the unique Romance languages of Spanish and Catalan.

Spanish being the second most-spoken language in the world and with the increasing emergence of Latin American economies, students will benefit from daily Spanish exposure and may discover their language fluency to be an asset in future employment opportunities. Besides Spanish, Catalan is the language of Catalonia, and is widely used in Barcelona as the city's co-official language. Locals are always happy to help beginners practice, and students are encouraged to take full advantage of the language resources available.
